But achieving ISO 9001:2015 certification is only half the battle. The real challenge is maintaining it. At SK, this commitment is reflected in every step of our operations, from supplier inspections to precision measurements.

Inside SK’s Quality Lab

1. Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)

The CMM is ideal for situations where there is either a very large quantity of parts, or where the parts require a high level of precision that cannot be quickly checked with hand gauges.

2. Romer Arm

When parts are too large for the CMM, the Romer Arm steps in. With a total checking area of about 8', but it can technically check larger parts through a process called 'leapfrogging' (no, really, that’s what it’s called!).

3. Laser Etching

While the CMM and Romer Arm are essentials in the Quality Department, we also offer laser etching on customer parts and other products. We can etch a wide range of items, from simple part numbers to full-fledged images, as long as the data provided to us is detailed enough. It’s the perfect way to add that extra level of detail.

Quality at Every Step

Even our certified suppliers aren’t off the hook when it comes to passing through SK's Quality Department! We make sure every part meets our high standards. For international vendors, SK inspects 20% of each shipment—unless inspection reports are missing, in which case we check 100%.

Equipment Maintenance & Calibration

Our shop measurement equipment has a yearly cycle of maintenance and cleaning. Whether it be the granite surface plates of the hand gauges used by the employees, all of them are checked for accuracy at least once a year or more.
